Voice of Democracy 

For many years, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) has offered the Voice of Democracy scholarship program to high school students. This prestigious scholarship awards over $2.3 million in scholarships and incentives to nearly 40,000 students each year.

Competitors must write and record an essay on an annual patriotic theme.

The first-place winner who competes with all first-place VFW department winners, will receive a $30,000 scholarship that will be paid directly to their American university, college, or vocational/technical school.
